train deaf dog
My dog is almost deaf. Any suggestions on training methods for deaf dogs.?
He is only 3. He can hear still, a little. The biggest problems is getting his attention when I want him to come. Do veterinarians do hearing tests? Probably not huh.
As a kid, we had two deaf dogs, a beagle and a great dane. They were born like this, so it was allitle different, but I trained them useing stomping/ hitting the floor. that would get their attention, and then hand gestures, for commands. They also respond to tone of voice but I am a guy with a more natural lower toned voice. Bells also might work, because cetain tones vibrate bones. good luck
