Memorizing multiplication tables to 20 – That's crazy!
Do you have a child who needs a confidence boost to school? Imagine if your son knew multiplication tables to 20. It would make him or her seem like a genius compared to most school children who have problems remembering 7x 8!
If you're like most people, you probably think that memorizing the multiplication tables twenty series a sacred task. Would! It would be crazy!
Sorry for those who already did when read ahead and learn the method for obtaining the answer to any problem of multiplication with whole numbers between 10 and 20, fast, without the need to memorize. They have saved weeks of drilling, memorization, if have used this method instead.
Here's how:
Let's say you're multiplying 12 x 17.
Step 1) Add the columns of these numbers with other numbers. In this case, you can add 12 or 7 + 2 + 17. (The two would give the same result, namely, 19). Fill with a zero, to get 190.
Step 2) Get the product of the digits of each of the original numbers (that 2 x 7, which give 14).
Step 3) Add the two numbers you have. In this case, it would be 190 + 14. You will receive 204 and you have to do, because 12 x 17 = 204.
That's how easy it is, and it works for all numbers between 10 and 20!
Try 19 x 14.
1) 19 + 4 = 23. 23 with a zero at the end is 230.
2) 9 x 4 = 36
3) 230 + 36 = 266, which is the correct answer. Bread eaten!
Please, please, never write anything or when you do that! It wlll defeat the purpose of this method. Write the things which the mind A child must be able to do is like to train to use crutches when not needed. The purpose of this is to trust your brain and learn to do math mentally simple.
Here are some other examples. Once you've practiced, which is fast enough to surprise anyone, especially a primary school. A third grader should be able to do this easily in a short period and become the "Einstein" in its class.
18 x 13
15 x 16
19 x 18
17 x 14
12 x 16
You can come across cases where you have to do. Automatically understand how if you pay attention.
Remember, you try build confidence, and you can not do if you do not have the basics. With the basic multiplication tables "in the bones," this way of multiplying numbers up 20 can be a "reputable manufacturer."
