Essex Beaches

One thing is no shortage of beaches in Essex. For many, many years off the coast of Essex has proved to be a popular destination for London and the counties, and attract tourists visiting Europe and beyond.
For your convenience, we have compiled information and resources for most of the beaches located Essex along our scenic coastal counties.

Costa Canvey

Thorney Bay beach (Canvey Island)
This quiet and safe sandy beach is ideal for families and for a day relaxing and enjoyable. The beach is surrounded by large open areas of lawn with picnic tables, park, playground and free parking. There is also a newly opened cafe with public toilets, which ensures that all important cup of tea, hot meals or simply fresh ice to ease away the rigors of sun, rock pooling of ball games on the lawn. Picnic and children's pool are always Favorites at this beach.

All this and yet only one hour from London Fenchurch Street Station through a short tour bus and foot.

Playa Labworth (Canvey Island)

Southend on Sea Coast

Southend on Sea has seven miles of sparkling seafront Shoeburyness to Leigh on this stretch of coast of Long Wed only six beaches are very special.

Bell Wharf Beach (Leigh on Sea)
A very small beach of fine sand which is extremely popular with families, located at the eastern end of Old Leigh in a region famous fishing for cockles and heritage. Shops, cafes and parking nearby. Access is Leigh old town and the railway station Leigh is a ten minute stroll.

Chalkwell Beach (Chalkwell)
It is a long narrow sandy beach with refreshments, parking and rescue volunteers on weekends. Access is the Garden Terrace West Chalkwell Chalkwell Station and is in the western end of the beach.

East Beach (Shoeburyness)
This small sandy beach with a grassy knoll, has excellent parking, cafeteria, recreational area, beach shower and toilet. There is also the zoning areas for water sports. Access is through the Esplanade and Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness Station is just 5 minutes.

Winner of the prestigious Blue Flag from the European Union and ENCAMS Quality Coast Award 2008.

Jubilee Beach (Southend)
Southend fantastic beach opened in July 2002. Jubilee Beach was created from the construction of better flood protection, and extends from Southend Pier to Thorpe Bay. The section of Marine Parade, the beach is very popular with families and Cafes, restaurants, entertainment retailing beach and a park next car. Access is from Marine Parade and Eastern Esplanade. Southend Central train station is ten minutes walk.

Beach County Shoebury (Shoeburyness)
Shoebury Common Beach (also known as West Beach) is a stone long sandy beach with access controlled auxiliary dock for boats and personal watercraft. This beach has a café, parking and large advantages. Access is via Eastern Esplanade and Thorpe Bay. Thorpe Bay railway station is approximately 15 minutes.

Three deposits Beach (Southend)
Three shells is unique, ideal for small families with all facilities close by and near the center. It is well managed with the support of the local trade association, which couple to the beach every day and installed a beach shower and a climbing frame for children. Access is Western Esplanade, west of the pier. Southend Central Station is a ten minute walk.

Tendring Coast

With over 36 miles of clean beaches, sand, you're bound to find exactly what you need in the Tendring coast. It also boasts three flags and blue coast as six awards. Our coastline and the guardians of nature are busy looking after all our beaches.

Albion Beach (Walton on the Naze)
With one of the best beaches of the region and home to the longest pier in the UK for its part, Walton loves Visitors of all ages. The range of activities in the field trips, Walton all. Gently shelving beaches offer an ideal place for a day retail and entertainment coast so there's always something.

Naze cliffs and beautiful National Nature Reserve provide opportunities for walking and bird watching. Yates look through and see Hamford water inside and outside the marina while the background of large sailing vessels in the port of Harwich.

Quality Coast Award beach is located near the village of Walton on the Naze, in Essex Sunshine Coast. Access is via a rail link London and the bus service from Ipswich and Clacton on Sea Frinton on Sea, or the southern route from London and Colchester via the A12, A120, A120, A133 and B1034 and north of Ipswich A12, A120, A133 and B1034.

Brightlingsea Beach (Brightlingsea)
Brightlingsea on the River Colne is rich in history Seas and has the distinction of being the only Cinque Port outside Kent and Sussex. Located next to the town of Dovercourt, the Road access is via the A120, follow signs for the price of Beach, Main Line train from London and Ipswich, Harwich and Dovercourt station. Also There is a bus service from Colchester, Ipswich and Clacton.

Frinton Beach (Frinton on Sea)
Frinton Sea is a destination quiet family beach located on the Essex sunshine coast. A gently sloping sandy beach known for its cleanliness and friendliness, region focuses on fun and casual at the beach Enjoy country walks along the extensive lawns or take a walk in the center of the city with its full range of shops. A walk along a direction in which Walton on the Naze to a center lively tourist, and in the other direction to Holland Haven Country Park, a local nature reserve.

Harwich Beach (Harwich)
Harwich Quality Coast Award beach is located next to the historic town of Harwich, on the estuary of the River Stour and Orwell in northeast Essex. The city is a major port and the old town of Harwich is a conservation area, which contains many beautiful historic buildings.

Harwich Beach is a rare example of a new dune system in Essex, where the coast is mostly wetlands. It might be best described as a beach "Work", as fishermen and marine use throughout the year to launch, land and moor their boats. Although there is not a designated bathing beach, which offers superb views of the docks Felixstowe. For this reason, it is ideal for those wishing to enjoy a stroll by the sea in summer and winter.

Road access is via the A120, follow signs for the center and Navyard. It is served by mainline train from London and Ipswich, Harwich. There are also bus services from Colchester, Ipswich and Clacton.

Martello Bay Beach (Clacton on Sea)
Clacton on Sea is the largest and busiest stations in the Essex Sunshine Coast. It has beautiful sandy beaches, a pier full of fun, seaside gardens, exceptionally maintained, is located on the promenade, two theaters and pleasure flights.

This range also boasts a Blue Flag, which resumed this year. The beach is gently sloping and benefits of a system safety belt for children to reassure parents.

The center combines growing national chains, independent stores, the plant near the Village Mall offers designer clothes at bargain prices. A calendar of events (including a free show two days of air) to keep visitors entertained throughout the year.

Martello Bay is located approximately one mile from downtown and is adjacent to West Beach. The city is served by rail links to London and major Ipswich and North Road (Ipswich and Colchester) via the A12, A120 and A133.

The Naze Beach (Walton on the Naze)
The Naze is the quality and price Costa just north of Walton on the Naze, northeast of Essex. Naze cliffs and beautiful nature reserve and for providing the opportunity to walk and observe birds.
