How safe are credit cards? I am afraid of misuse by others. ?
I find that credit cards are necessary for online bookings, air and railway tickets and others.Hence I wish to know whether it is wise to apply for one as I am a retired executive.
All legitimate businesses should have safe web pages so that if you do enter in your credit card information it will not be used for anything other than your purchase and nobody but the company receiving your order should be able to get access to your numbers; if it should happen that someone else does then you will not be responsible for the charges.
I once had my credit card stolen by a woman I worked with (was training her for my position as I was leaving the company, she was the only one that had access to my purse). A few days after she took it I realized it was missing and called the credit card company. They were able to tell me what was purchased and I was not responsible for the $500 she put on my card.
